Uniroyal has launched its latest offering for high performance cars in Ireland: the Rainsport 2 tyre. The Rainsport 2 delivers outstanding performance and gives motorists greater safety in wet conditions when it is most needed.

The new Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyre range gives better handling and safety in typical Irish wet and dry road conditions.

This makes it the ideal tyre for Irish motorists as Met Éireann figures show that one result of global warming is that we are experiencing more rainfall, particularly in the summer months: June, July and August 2007 recorded double the normal amount of rainfall.

Wet roads are a potential hazard for motorists as stopping distances are increased. The Uniroyal range of tyres is specially designed to cope with wet weather motoring.

Uniroyal’s trademark V-shaped tread pattern efficiently disperses water from under the tyres so that it holds the road better. The Rainsport 2 has an innovative 3D structure in the base and side of the tread grooves enabling rapid water dispersion.

Uniroyal claims that an even ground pressure distribution is achieved through the use of a curved V-shaped tread rib. This means the maximum amount of rubber is in contact with the road surface allowing shorter braking distances in both wet and dry conditions.

The Rainsport 2 exceeds the mileage capabilities of its predecessor, the Rainsport 1, with its unique wet weather silica compound. To maximise the tyre’s mileage potential three indicators have been placed on both the inner and outer shoulder. Incorrect track alignment and camber settings are identified if the indicator grooves are unevenly worn. Poor wheel alignment is identified and rectified early and, as a result, the motorist can gain higher mileage through avoiding uneven wear.

The Rainsport 2 builds on the success of its predecessor by improving in straight and curved aquaplaning protection, braking on both wet and dry roads and its overall handling.

The Rainsport 2 is available in 14 to 19 inch wheel sizes from all good tyre stockists.
