Suzuki has launched its new Splash model to the Irish market with a competitive entry price of just €15,495 before delivery charges. This new small car is claimed to have bags of practicality and youthful, vibrant styling designed specifically for the European market. ![]() The new Suzuki Splash comes with space and high specification with a list price of €15,495 before delivery charges. The Splash has been designed as a spacious, practical and compact urban family car. Suzuki believes that its styling represents a departure from all purely practicality-orientated, traditional models, while still retaining roominess and functionality. The Splash is powered by Suzuki's own 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 86bhp, which claims good low-end torque and fuel efficiency. A 1.0-litre version of this engine will be introduced for 2009. The car's CO2 emission figure is just 131g/km, one of the lowest available. This makes the Splash eligible for the tax band of €150 per year. Suzuki claims that it offers cost-effective motoring with fuel consumption of just 5.5l/100km. The Splash is offered in six colours, two of which are new to the Suzuki range. Splash Green and Lagoon Turquoise have been developed specifically for the model. The compact dimensions of the car, which has an overall length of 3730 mm, means that the Splash remains a manoeuvrable proposition about town with a turning circle of just 9.4 m. On the comfort front, the Splash has raised seating positions for good visibility plus a high mounted shift leaver for easy operation. Suzuki claims that it offers high levels of comfort and space. A 60:40 - split rear seat opens up to create expanded, full-flat luggage area offering 573 litres of baggage space, including a handy waterproof compartment beneath the boot floor. That's on top of an equipment list that includes a CD tuner with MP3 player and steering wheel-mounted audio controls; leather-trimmed steering wheel; remote central locking; front electric windows with driver's auto-down; manual air conditioning; electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors; height-adjustable front seats; tilt adjustable steering wheel; and a new clear information display. Suzuki claims that the Splash is also one of the safest cars in its class. All models are equipped with six airbags, including two full-length curtain airbags, and ESP® electronic stability as standard. And all Suzuki models are covered by a three year/100,000kms new vehicle warranty. |
