Skoda has added its most efficient Diesel engine yet, the 1.6 litre TDI model, to the Octavia range, its best selling car in the Irish market. This new turbo-charged four-cylinder engine uses four-valve per cylinder technology combined with a new common rail injection system with high-pressure injection to deliver 105bhp. Skoda is now offering a new 1.6 litre turbo-diesel engine in the Octavia range with impressive fuel economy, low tax rates and a starting price of €19,420 before delivery charges. The 1.6TDI CR unit is also available with the latest generation seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Complying with the latest EU5 emission regulations, this new 1.6TDI CR produces just 119g/km of CO2. This puts it into ‘Band-A' annual road tax of just €104. In fuel economy terms, this means a combined fuel consumption of just 4.5l/100km (63mpg), making the car a competitive low running cost option for Irish buyers in 2010.
The new Octavia 1.6TDI CR comes with a DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) that filters harmful carcinogenic particles (95% reduction) that would otherwise be expelled in the exhaust emissions.
This new 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.6TDI CR in Classic specification has a recommended retail price of €19,420, in Ambiente specification a retail price of €21,025 (with multifunction leather steering wheel and Bluetooth phone compatibility now standard).
Prices for the Elegance specification models start at €22,405 (now with 6CD Bolero radio with touch screen technology). The Octavia 1.6TDI CR 7-speed DSG Classic retails for €22,295 (all prices exclude delivery and related charges).
