Renault Ireland has released details of their new price list that will come into affect in Dealerships on 1 July this year. This new price list shows savings for car buyers on the Renault range with no less than seven model types benefiting from the new CO2 VRT and Motor Tax schemes.

Renault is reducing prices across its range following the VRT changes from 1 July. Prices of the Scenic models drop by up to €3,500.

Models in the Twingo, Clio, Grand Modus, Mégane, Scenic, Grand Scenic and Laguna ranges will benefit from 1 July with some models dropping in price by up to €3,500. As well as the initial savings, customers can expect to benefit from reduced annual Motor Tax renewal costs, especially those that opt for vehicles in the Renault Eco2 Range, where the maximum annual Road Tax payment will be €150. This range includes the 1.5dCi powered Laguna III models.

Renault created the Eco2 label, which is displayed on all models in the Eco2 range, in order to help customers easily identify vehicles that are both friendlier to the environment and more economically viable. Each vehicle in the Eco2 range must comply with strict guidelines that have been set down, foremost of which is that they must emit less that 140 grammes of CO2 gasses per kilometre of travel. By ensuring that the emissions stay below this level, Renault Ireland can guarantee that all models in the Eco2 range will fall into Band A or B or the new Motor Tax and VRT regimes.

The price changes show benefits for a diverse cross section of Renault vehicles, from the small city car in Twingo to the large Grand Scenic seven-seater. Renault claims that this is the only seven-seat MPV to fall into Band B in the new Motor Tax system.

Renault customers can also take advantage of the first Renault Biofuel vehicle launched onto the Irish market, the Clio Eco Royale 1.2L (Flexifuel) which is available now. There will be further Flexifuel models in the range later this year and into 2009.
