Nissan's new Qashqai hits the streets this weekend, with the car officially launched at dealerships around the country. This is a new model to the range fitting into the Almera segment but it has more style and a stronger look. There are three engine options for the Qashqai, starting with a 1.6 litre petrol, followed by a 1.5 litre turbo-diesel and the top of the range Qashqai with a 2.0 litre petrol engine. The Qashqai is available in two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive format, but only for the larger 2.0 litre petrol powered model. And Nissan also offers a CVT type automatic gearbox for this version too, along with a range of extras such as intelligent key, leather seating and satellite navigation, which are available across the range. Entry prices for the Qashqai are from €23,995, before delivery charges, which seems reasonably competitive. The diesel model starts at €426,695 before delivery charges. See next week's issue for a full test drive report. |
