The OHM Group has agreed an exclusive distribution agreement for the Republic of Ireland for the Modec electric powered vans. The Modec van is a zero emission 5.5 tonne Gross Vehicle Weight commercial vehicle with zero emissions and zero noise. A Modec has up to a 160 kilometre range, a top speed of 80 km/hr and up to a two tonne payload. Recharging is simplicity itself. Just get out, plug in and go home. In the UK, Tesco is among the users of the Modecs in their fleets. These vans must undergo full EU approval and the OHM Group expects to begin delivers into the Irish market in early 2009. The OHM Group, established in 1972, already imports Jaguar, Saab, SEAT, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Daihatsu brands of motor cars, DAF and MAN trucks and buses, VDL buses and coaches, Hyster Forklifts, Hubtex multi-directional side loading fork lifts, SDMO generators and Lister Petter and John Deere industrial engines. The group employs over 250 people, operating from purpose built, state-of-the-art facilities at six separate locations. |
