![]() The Ford Mondeo will be offered with the FlexiFuel engine option in 2008. Sales of FlexiFuel vehicles (FFVs), running on both conventional petrol and environmentally friendly bio-ethanol, are likely to be boosted further with the introduction early in 2008 of the new Ford Mondeo FFV. The Mondeo joins the Focus and C-Max in Ford's unique line-up of Flexi-Fuel cars, which enjoy a 50per cent VRT rebate and run on 'duty?free' E85 bio-ethanol, which is now available at 27 Maxol stations nationwide. Nearly 400 Ford FFV cars have been sold or ordered to date in Ireland. The Mondeo FFV will be available from February in both LX and Zetec versions, powered by a specially adapted 2.0-litre 145 PS powertrain. It will come in four door, five door and wagon bodystyles. Mondeo FFV prices will be announced closer to introduction, but are likely to bring a tax rebate of over €3,000 to the customer. In addition, companies can claim back VAT on purchases of E85 bio-ethanol and enjoy discounted insurance from a number of providers including FordInsure who offer a 20per cent reduction on FFV vehicles. |
