Mitsubishi Fuso Europe, the commercial van and truck division of Mitsubishi Motors, increased sales in 2007. While European production was up by nearly 14 per cent, the company exceeded the 10,000 units sales barrier for the first time ever since Daimler took a majority interest in the business.

The strong European performance was mirrored by Mitsubishi in the Irish market, where the Canter is a popular commercial vehicle in its class. Gary Collins, General Manager of Mitsubishi FUSO Ireland, claims that the Canter van is the market leader in the 3.5t - 7.5t chassis and cab segment with a market share of 23 per cent.
