The 50th birthday of the Mini will be celebrated at the 'Classic Car Live' event, which takes place next Sunday 14 June at Mondello Park, Co. Kildare. This section of the show is been organised with the help of the Irish Mini Owners Club and will be the main celebration of Minis in Ireland this year.

More than 100 Minis are expected to attend and the display will be completed by parade laps, which will see the largest ever collection of Minis on track at the one time.

The Ford Capri, which reaches 40 this year, will also celebrate its birthday at the event and, once again, a large static display of cars will be topped off by parade laps.
