Mazda aims for 30% fuel consumption cuts |

Mazda has set itself ambitious plans to reduce the fuel consumption of its vehicles sold globally by an average of 30 per cent by 2015. The company plans to use lightweight technologies, the upgrade of almost all petrol engines, introducing a smart idle stop system, a new petrol rotary engine and new diesel engines.
Mazda claims that by 2015, it will have renewed almost its entire engine line-up. It believes that through developing safe, lightweight, new generation platforms, it will reduce the weight of its new vehicles by 100 kilograms or more. Mazda will introduce a smart idle stop system will be launched next year.
