General Motors is reported to have overtaken Toyota as the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer after outselling the Japanese brand in the first nine months of 2007.
The position for market topper has been a keen one for the last two years as Toyota edged closer to GM. Now it appears that GM has regained top spot after reporting global sales of 7.06 million. Toyota sold 7.05 million units and the company said that it still hoped to sell 9.42 million units this year, which it believes would allow it to reclaim the number one slot at year-end.
