Ford reports that hydrogen cars could be on sale in three to five years. Ford has launched a fleet of 30 hydrogen-powered buses in the United States and Canada. The vehicles, powered by a modified petrol engine, have near zero emissions and get up to 13% better fuel economy than their petrol counterparts
A Ford spokesman said that the company had the ability to bring internal combustion hydrogen technology to market in cars within five years if fuel storage limitations could be solved, public fear of hydrogen can be allayed, filling stations set up and gas prices stay high.
