1. Stick to your guns Don't let the salesman talk you into a deal you're not satisfied with. Have a maximum price in mind and stick to it. 2. Give little away Don't tell the dealer what your budget is. He'll be less willing to offer a big discount if he knows you can easily afford the car. 3. Be assertive Haggling doesn't have to be aggressive. In fact, staying calm and cheerful is often the best way to negotiate a good deal. 4. Walk away If the dealer refuses to meet your target price, you can get elsewhere. The salesman might even reconsider if you start walking. |
