World Ocean Day 2008 will be celebrated at Galway Atlantaquaria this year with more fun and frolics than ever before.

The Atlantaquaria has just announced the lineup for the day, which will take place on Saturday, 8 June with participation from Bord Iascaigh Mhara, the Marine Institute and the RNLI.

However, the most special guest of all will be Bjorn the polar bear. Bjorn and his keeper Christina will be coming from England to celebrate World Ocean Day in Galway, and their interactive stage show designed to teach children about polar bears, their habitats and survival, is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

The RNLI is due to stage a helicopter sea rescue in Galway Bay on World Ocean Day, while there will also be Galway hookers from Spiddal and participation from the Galway Bay Sailing Club and the Galway Sub Aqua Club.
