Women of Windsurfing Irelandd (WOWI) received a substantial grant from the Sports Council of Ireland to continue their work in promoting windsurfing among women. The €17,000 grant was used to hold a series of weekend windsurfing seminars in various schools around the country, one of which was the Rusheen Bay Windsurfing School.

Rusheen Bay hosted the women-only classes on Saturday, 11 and Sunday 12 August, with a subsidised fee of €120.
