The second race of the dinghy Summer Series took place on Tuesday 3 June in a brisk south westerly wind. A triangular course with a long beat, a short reach and a long run was set by race officer Aoife Lyons. Several of the multihulls were highly premature in the start sequence and a general recall was issued. Second time around the boats got away cleanly and were straight onto the beat.

Yannick Lemonier sailed the ISO very well with Peadar Harvey as crew to stay up with, and eventually ahead of the Breen family on the SB3. Amongst the more traditional monohull boats Gerry Drudy built a small lead on the way to the first windward mark rounding. He sailed fabulously with crew Dympna O'Byrne out on the wire and added to his lead at each subsequent rounding. Gerry went on to win the race by a good margin. Nicholas Burke sailed very well in the brisk conditions to take second place, just two seconds ahead of the ISO on corrected time.

The windy conditions were excellent for the fast and exciting multihull fleet. Tom Murphy showed he is getting familiar with his new Spitfire and pulled ahead of the FX1s to finish well ahead at the end. Ger Murray took second and Johnny Murphy third in a close match at the front.
