Galway County Council has given notice of plans to regulate the use of certain craft on inland and coastal waters in the county.

The proposals include banning jetskis from Lough Corrib, Lough Mask and Lough Rea, banning fast power craft from Lough Mask, imposing a 5kt speed limit on fast power craft within 500m of the shore or any land, banning kiteboards from Lough Rea and imposing a number of other restrictions in relation to using various craft around swimmers.

Submissions on the proposed bye laws are due in to the County Secretary by 4pm on Friday, 30 May.
