Mr Noel Treacy, TD, has confirmed that planning permission has been given for two separate major sporting development projects at St Brendan's GAA Club, Loughrea and Loughrea Golf Club. Both these clubs are integral parts of sporting culture in Loughrea.

Loughrea Golf Club can now begin construction of a specialist machinery, storage and workshop facility at their grounds at Graigue on the Bullaun Road. St Brendan's GAA club will now be in a position to draw down their capital sports grant, by undertaking a major development at Caherwalter on the Dublin Road.

The completion of these two projects will benefit thousands of people of all ages in the greater Loughrea area and will ensure that these two famous sports clubs will be able to offer better facilities than ever before to their members and patrons, along with the many visitors and tourists, who come to the area.
