Galway Film Centre's programme of courses and workshops for this autumn/winter is now available.

There are a wide range of varied and interesting courses on offer, to suit all tastes, whether you want to untap your potential as a budding filmmaker or build on existing skills in areas such as camera work, lighting and editing.

The well established film foundation course, which runs over seven weekends, commences late September and explores all aspects of filmmaking from screenwriting and directing to acting and lighting.

The introduction to documentary making course begins on Saturday 20 September and gives participants the opportunity to make their own documentary over the course of four weekends. The end product of both this and the film foundation course is a short film, which can be used as part of a portfolio or for screening to friends.

Animation for adults, make up for TV and two weekends of camera work and editing are also available.

All courses are run by experienced tutors and course numbers are limited for maximum benefit. The centre in Cluain Mhuire on the Monivea Road is open to the public, Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
