'I never leave my hurl down and my dream is to one day wear the maroon and white jersey.' Mrs Kathleen Forde, teacher and trainer at St Thomas National School, could hardly contain the team's excitement before the training session, which she believed would be the highlight of their summer holidays. Ger Loughnane and a selection of the Galway hurlers gave an intense training session, explaining different techniques, which finished with a friendly match. They also had the opportunity to watch the Galway hurlers train for their forthcoming matches. Runners-up Jason Nevin of Mullagh U10s and Stephen Kelly from Castlefrench National School both received training equipment for their clubs. |
