Gardaí have issued fresh warnings urging people to be wary or burglars and to properly secure their premises.

The warnings follow a fresh spate of burglaries in the city. On Friday 5 January, between 4am and 4.30am, Baby World on the Tuam Road was targeted; thieves entered the building through the rood and a sum of money was taken.

The next day, between 1am and 2am, thieves entered the staff room of Supermac's on the Headford Road and a number of phones were stolen.

Meanwhile, sometime between Wednesday 3 and Monday 8 January, a red car parked in the Cathedral car park was broken into and a Sony CD player was stolen. Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to contact Galway Gardaí station on 091-538000.
