The annual sponsored six or ten-mile 'Turkey Walk' in Annaghdown will take place on Wednesday 26 December.

This is a well-established event, which has raised tens of thousands for the heart unit at University Hospital Galway (UHG) over the past number of years.

Orgainsed by an enthusiastic group of volunteers from Croí Friends Annaghdown and District, almost 300 people of all ages and from all walks of life are expected to descend on Annaghdown on St Stephens Day.

A free bus is available from outside The Skeff, Eyre Square, departing at 12 noon. The walk kicks off at 12.30pm from the Community Centre, Annaghdown.

There will be refreshments, before, during and after the walk. There is over €3,000 worth of prizes available for those who walk and who raise sponsorship.

For further details, contact Peter Flaherty, Annaghdown on 091-791471.
