Colaiste Iognaid Rowing Club at Earl's Island on Distillery Road, Galway has applied for permission to change its clubhouse and grounds.
The club has applied to Galway City Council for planning permission to build a gymnasium on an interior mezzanine floor and to relocate the boys' dressing room. They also want to add more windows to the property to allow more natural light to enter the premises.
There is an ongoing problem with overgrown trees in the grounds of the club, which could, according to Galway City Council be “potentially hazardous”. Permission has been granted to remove them.
