Roses are red, prices will leave you blue

The price of a dozen red roses in Galway ranges from €54 to €90, with the price of 12 roses on average costing €71, a Galway Independent (short) survey has revealed.

For the no frills consumer a single red rose will set you back €8.

Many florists are offering different styles of rose and this lends to the variation in price. The grand prix rose is the most expensive and is seen as the most exquisite in its class. The passion rose is secondary to the grand prix in style and in price with bouquets beginning at €50.
