A 20-year-old Renmore man has been remanded in custody following his appearance before Galway District Court charged with break-ins at the Kingfisher Club earlier this month.

Darragh Hastings, 10 Seagrove, Renmore, Galway, appeared before the court in custody, charged with breaking into the Kingfisher Club, Renmore, on 13 September and again last Sunday night, 28 September, and committing thefts.

He is further charged with damaging a cash register and computer to the value of €2,000 during the alleged 13 September break-in.

Arresting Garda, Noelle Kilduff, objected to a bail application made by Hastings to the court. She said it would be alleged he committed these offences while out on bail on other charges.

On the application of Inspector Sean Glynn, Judge Mary Fahy refused bail and she remanded Hastings in custody to Harristown District Court next Friday, 3 October, for DPP's directions.
