Marion Hanley, Leaving Cert student Salerno Secondary School, Salthill, receives the inaugural Emily Feeney Generosity of Spirit Award at a presentation ceremony in the school last Thursday.

Pictured with Marion are John Behan, Scuptor, who designed and produced the specially commissioned bronze sculpture, and Eileen and Jarlath Feeney, parents of Emily. Salerno School Leaving Certs and School Management came up with idea of the award in remembrance of Emily Feeney, a fourth year student of the school, who died last December and to recognise a student who had shown a generosity of spirit and made Salerno a better place to be.
