The Galway Bay Hotel has been awarded the prestigious Optimus 'Mark of Best Practice Award'.
Speaking at the ceremony in Dublin's Clontarf Castle, the hotel's General Manager, Dan Murphy, said the hotel's management and staff achieved the award by adhering to their mission statement of meeting and exceeding the expectations of all customers, through a "passion for excellence and professionalism" and by maintaining the highest standards.
The 'Mark of Best Practice' award is the second of three levels that can be accomplished in the Optimus scheme, which enables tourism businesses to benchmark against the best in the industry, discover what makes them successful and apply that to their own business.
The hotel's Human Resources Manager, Mary Conroy, said that all the hotel's staff are delighted with the achievement, and are to be complimented for their hard work and dedication.
