Preparatory work for the Claregalway Quality Bus Corridor has been completed, with a study and background work undertaken on the N17 from the Cregboy Road to the N18 junction and from the Kiniska Road to the bridge.

Galway Councillor Jim Cuddy said he will continue to liaise with Galway County Council to ensure that the quality bus corridor is implemented in the shortest time possible.

Claregalway is also to be connected to the gas pipeline in the coming months. Pipe laying commenced yesterday and is due to be completed by Sunday 2 December. Work will start each day at 10am and will end at 4pm, in order not to disrupt traffic too much.

Cllr Cuddy also warned that delays are expected in Claregalway during the delays and advised motorists to "be patient and use alternative routes where possible."
