Thousands of Galway hurling fans will flock to Dublin this St Patrick's Day to support Galway hopefuls Portumna in their quest to become All-Ireland Club Champions and thereby reclaim the Tommy Moore Cup.

Portumna won their first all Ireland in 2006, when they overcame Newtownshandrum. This year they have the arduous task of defeating a club that is a mere 20 miles away.

Birr is a town and a team that Portumna know only too well and while Portumna is hotly tipped for the title, beating Birr will be no mean feat.

Portumna's only major injury concern is Eoin Lynch, who is suffering from a broken finger. Eoin is due to have the pins removed from his hand today, Wednesday, so time will tell whether he will be ready for the big day on Monday.

Iarnród Éireann will be running two trains out of Galway Ceannt Station on Monday 17 March at 7.15am and at 10.50am and the returning trains will depart Dublin for Galway at 5.50pm and at 7.15pm.
