Minister for Education Batt O'Keeffe revealed recently that Galway is to received nine of 200 new positions that are to be distributed to primary and post-primary schools in the current school year. Among those included in the plans are SN Cillini Dioma in Loughrea, SN Naomh Iosef in Kinvara, SN An Leath Bhaile in Tuam and SN Aine Naofa in Gort. Aibhistin Naofa in Ballinasloe will also receive a new teaching post, alongside Togala Mhuire in Athenry, SN Baile an Mhuilinn in Tuam, SN Muire Gan Smal in Cladach Dubh and Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh in Knocknacarra. Welcoming the news, Deputy Michael Kitt said the Department of Education and Science would be contacting the schools in the coming days to inform them of the approval of one of these additional posts. |
