Macnas will be moving into their new rehearsal space in Liosban this week after their pleas for help finding a new rehearsal space generated a massive response.

Artistic Director Noeline Kavanagh said the company were contacted by numerous business owners who generously offered the use of a number of premises around the city.

The space had to meet very specific requirements to facilitate the building of magical creations of all shapes and sizes.

The perfect space was eventually found in Liosban, kindly offered to the company by Bob and Gillian Bradley at Bradley Motors.

"The space is perfect, finally we will be able to have all of our team working under the one roof rather than spread out all over the city. The response is an indication of Galway support for Macnas, and we would like to particularly thank the generosity of Bradley Motors, who have come to our rescue," said Macnas Administrator, Sharon O’Grady.

Plans are already underway for the annual Macnas parade in Galway Arts Festival this July, but glimpses of Macnas on the streets of Galway will be seen during the St Patrick’s Day Festival.
