Groups wishing to benefit from the next round of funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund should attend a workshop at City Hall tomorrow, 6 September.
A sum of €125,000 from the Dormant Accounts Fund has been allocated to Galway City RAPID areas. The fund is limited to projects of an economic and social disadvantage category. Two separate funding application forms are available depending on the amount of the grant requested. Grants forms are available for amounts of €3,000 to €10,000 and the second form relates to grants of over €10,000.
All groups that wish to apply for funding must attend tomorrow’s workshop at 8pm in the training room of Galway City Council at City Hall on College Road. If a member of the group does not attend, they will not be eligible for an application form. Following on from the workshop, groups will have to fill in the application forms and the RAPID AIT will have to approve applications, which will then be forwarded by the co-coordinator to Pobal. No applications can bypass the local AIT. Further details will be announced at the workshop and individual support will be offered to all groups who are eligible to make a suitable application.
The workshop will include input from the Dormant Accounts Fund team, RAPID, the VEC and other agencies that have a role in community funding. Anyone requiring further information should contact Liam Hanrahan of RAPID on 091-536846.
