Man assaulted in city centre E-mail

Galway Gardai are seeking assistance from the public after a man was assaulted in the city centre on Saturday night last. A man was robbed and assaulted around 11pm on Saturday night last by two men in the Augustine Street area of the city. The man suffered damage to his eye socket in the attack and was robbed of his mobile phone and car keys.

The two suspects fled in the direction of the Spanish Arch after the robbery

No arrests have been made after the assault and gardaí say their inquiries are ongoing and that CCTV from the area is been examined.

Mill Street Gardaí have asked for witnesses to contact Mill Street Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda Confidential line on 1 800 666 111 with any information regarding the crime.
