A major auction of fine art and furniture is to take place this Sunday at Kenny's Bookshop and Art Gallery in Liosban Retail Park. Held in association with auction house Mullen's Laurel Park, this promises to be a very exciting auction with almost 500 lots, many with no reserve. Viewing will take place from tomorrow, Thursday 12 November, to Saturday 14 November from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 10am to 12pm, before the auction takes place. Mullen's and Kenny's have travelled the country over the last six months, sourcing art and furniture for this Galway auction. Furniture highlights include a fine Victorian mahogany, walnut and polychrome occasional table by Gillow & Co; an Edwardian mahogany desk by Maple & Co; a Georgian mahogany secretaire library bookcase; and a pair of Georgian style mahogany brass bound peat buckets. The work of major artists such as Patrick Hennessy, William Conor, Louis Le Brocquy, Kenneth Webb, Maurice Wilks, Harry Kernoff, Mark Kavanagh (Rasher), Richard Ward, Francis Bacon, Arthur Maderson, George Campbell and Patrick Copperwhite are all included. There are also many recent paintings and prints with very low estimates. The full catalogue can be viewed at www.kennys.ie/auctions and the auction will be held at 12 noon sharp on Sunday 15 November. For more information, contact Kenny's Auction Rooms, Liosban Retail Park, Tuam Road on 091-709350. |
