Walls representing the so called ?Apartheid Wall' surrounding the Palestinian communities in the West Bank and Gaza will be created in youth workshops and exhibited around Galway and later in Belfast.

Youths from the occupied territories and Israel are coming to Galway next summer with Schools without Borders to work with Macnas and Galway Youth Theatre, and this installation is a way of introducing Galway and the youths that will be working with the groups to the situation in Palestine and Israel. The aim is to invite local people to get involved and create a sustainable and empowering link between Galway and Palestine.

The Apartheid Wall will show projections of the writing and art on the wall in Palestine, which is their message to the world. The work of youth projects from Palestine will also be displayed, including videos, slide shows and cartoons, along with footage and photos from Israeli peace activists.

Messages created during workshops by local youths on the Galway Wall will be used in street campaigns and filmed or photographed, and sent to youths in Palestine and Israel.

The Wall of Heroes will be dedicated to the young members of the International Solidarity Movement and the many Palestinians and Israelis who stand up for peace and justice.

A Virtual Wall will be built to promote a campaign by Trocaire. ?This Wall Must Fall' is a petition which, when signed makes, a hole in this virtual wall on their website. People can also support the replanting of olive trees by buying a gift of an olive tree online.

The week will be filmed and feed into ?Upstart' a promo/demo for a youth lead current affairs programme connecting Galway2Gaza.
