Funding has been secured for the extension of public lighting on Clybaun Road as far as Sli na Sruthan housing estate. Local councillor Donal Lyons confirmed that the funding will be forthcoming from the Director of Services, Transportation and Infrastructure and that the proposed works are included in the 2009 Estimates.

On the announcement, Cllr Lyons said: "I am delighted that following my representations some funding has been included in this year's roads programme, and that work on improving the road will now commence this week."
