The Children's Remembrance Day Committee at University Hospital Galway, together with children from Scoil Catriona's primary school in Renmore have launched their Christmas tree lights initiative. The Christmas tree lights at University Hospital Galway will be switched on Sunday 9 December; with each of the lights representing all loved ones sponsored. Lights will be available to the general public from Sunday 25 November for two weeks from 10am to 8pm at the Main Foyer at University Hospital Galway. The lights are limited and it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment. Speaking at the launch of the project, Susan Massey of the Children's Remembrance Day Committee said that the Christmas lights were a unique way to remember a loved one. "The Christmas tree lights are a unique gift where a light may be sponsored for a loved one. A Christmas card is given for each light sponsored, which may be sent to relatives at home or abroad or to the family of a deceased relative or friend. A triduum of Masses will also be celebrated in the hospital Chapel at UHG over the Christmas season for all sponsored." For more information or to sponsor a light, phone 091-523206. |
