The hugely popular Senior Times Over 50s Show is coming to the Radisson Hotel, Galway on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 June next. The show has been running in Dublin's RDS for the past ten years and is designed to give Ireland's 1.2 million people over 50 an upbeat, informative and educational event which addresses their needs interests and concerns. The organiser of the event, Brian McCabe, ensures that the Galway event will be no different. "You won't find any mobility aids, Zimmer frames or nursing homes participating, because it's not what 'older' people are interested in." Apart from 70 exhibitors covering health, hobbies and pastimes, further education, Government/statutory information and home and abroad holidays, there are a number of attractions lined up, including free antique, stamp and coin valuations from the experts, a gardening clinic with Anne McKeon, free cholesterol screening and health talks on conditions that affect older people and a golf lesson with a PGA professional. Admission to this unique event is €5 at the door, but people can gain free entry by logging onto www.seniortimes.ie and printing off the ticket download. The show runs from 10am to 7pm on Wednesday 4 June, and from 10am to 6pm on Thursday 5 June. |
