The woman that died following a road accident in Leenane in Co. Galway last Friday was laid to rest yesterday (Tuesday) in St Michael's Church, Leenane. Sinead King, aged 37, was seriously injured after she was struck by a van while walking on the N59, Clifden to Westport Road.

She was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar but was then transferred to Galway University Hospital where she died early on Saturday morning.

Gardai in Clifden are appealing for witnesses to the accident and have asked anyone with information to contact Clifden Garda Station on 095-21021 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800-666111.
