A new sister radio station of Galway's iRadio is calling for budding radio stars to attend the last in a series of nationwide auditions taking place at the iRadio studios in Wellpark today. i105-107 is a new regional radio station, which will cover the North East and Midlands. It is currently looking for presenters, newsreaders and production staff. When it goes on air later this year, i105-107 will be broadcasting to Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Kildare, Westmeath, Laois and Offaly. The auditions will be held in the i102-104 studios based in the Wellpark Leisure Centre and are open to anyone who thinks they have what it takes to become a radio star. Speaking at the announcement, Ollie Brady, Programme Director at i105-107 said he was blown away by the standards of auditionees taking part in the talent search. "The last series of auditions blew us away and confirmed our belief that there is lots of new, raw talent out there. We are having one more audition this year but we plan to do them annually as part of our commitment to discover and develop new talent for the broadcasting industry. "We had to add this extra date to the search due to the massive demand we've experienced. We have already identified over 30 people so far to attend our 'I' workshop in May. We hope to find even more potential radio stars at the talent search in Galway," he concluded. The final audition is an opportunity to meet with the i105-107 team and chat in a friendly, informal atmosphere as well as to see inside Ireland's newest and only fully digital radio station at i102-104. Auditions start at 10am on Wednesday 9 April. Those interested should register now at www.iwanttobeontheradio.ie and await an email reply with a time allocation. |
