Teresa Hannon and Margaret Melligan from Headford look through items at one of the Novena stands outside Galway Cathedral on Monday at the beginning of the 26th annual Novena, which continues until Tuesday 19 February.

The Novena is expected to attract up to 10,000 people a day.
