The Historical Society at NUI, Galway will hold its annual Arts Ball tonight, Wednesday, in the Radisson SAS Hotel.

A premier event on the college calendar, the Arts Ball will be attended by close to 1,000 people. The Arts Faculty is the largest in NUI, Galway incorporating over 6,000 students from a myriad of academic disciplines.

This year, profits from the ball will go to the Williams Syndrome Association of Ireland, a Ballinasloe-based charity that runs music camps for those with William's Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes medical and developmental problems.

Bank of Ireland, who are this year's sponsors, have contributed €1,000 to the Williams Syndrome Association of Ireland.

The party begins at 5pm in Bar 903 and buses will then transport patrons from the bar to the Radisson Hotel between 7pm and 7.30pm. The ball itself will take place in the Inis Mor ballroom of the Radisson Hotel.
