Local heart charity Croí are looking for runners of all ages and abilities to participate in the Future Streets of Galway 8km Road Race taking place on Saturday 9 August.

The Streets of Galway is now in its 23rd year and annually attracts huge numbers of runners for what has become Galway's most popular athletic event. The race caters for runners of all levels, from elite athletes to those for whom participation is the ultimate goal. Announcing details of this year's event, Seona Joyce of Croí said Croí were aiming to raise substantial funds to support the Cardiac Surgical Unit at Galway University Hospital, which has already carried out over 100 cardiac bypass operations in its first 12 months.
