An extensive development at the Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit has been given the go-ahead by city planners.

The extension, which is being undertaken by Marcon Construction, will have a gross floor area of 9,066.8 square metres and will include a conference hall, pre-reception area, kitchen and toilets.

It will also incorporate 12 additional meeting rooms and 24 hotel bedrooms.

The four-storey development will be a substantial addition to the Ballybrit hotel, which is owned by prominent businessman John Glynn.
