The charity shoot takes place in the GMIT Sports Hall on Friday, 19 October, at 2pm and expects to finish on Saturday evening, 20 October. Some 20 archers from the GMIT club will shoot for 28 consecutive hours. Archery students from other third-level colleges will support them. The money raised will go towards the People in Need Trust, which raises and distributes money to charitable organisations throughout the country. The GMIT shoot funds will go toward local charities. Commenting on the challenge, Thomas Barrett, Captain, GMIT Archery Club said, "We're looking for people to come down and support us and at the same time learn about this fantastic sport and help raise a lot of money for local charities." |
