Gardai in Galway are appealing for information from the public in connection with a serious assault at Church Lane, Galway at 4am on Thursday, 4 December.

They are appealing for any witnesses to the assault and in particular to a male who accompanied the injured party, to come forward.

This male accompanied the injured individual from Cuba nightclub at 2am, proceeding to Supermacs, Eyre Square and then down Shop Street and it is stressed he is being asked to come forward as a witness.

On the night in question, this male, who is estimated to be aged in his twenties, was wearing a striped top and had his hair dyed pink on top.

The Gardai are also appealing for a witness (a non-Irish national) who was driving a taxi and took a fare from a female on Bridge Street (outside the Living Room) to a residence in the Doughiska area around 4.15am on the same night to come forward.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Gardai at Galway Garda station on 091-538000.
