Gardaí are warning people to be vigilant following recent reports of bogus tradesmen offering their services in the Galway area.

These bogus tradesmen are mainly offering chimney-cleaning services in particular. Gardaí would ask that people get a reputable tradesman or company to carry out these works and if they see anything suspicious, report the details to their local Garda station.

Suspicions have also been raised about online banking. Gardaí would like to make people aware that while they are banking online, a pop up screen may appear. They have advised people to be careful when inputting details into this screen.
