Gardaí have launched an investigation into a spate of burglaries in the Gort area.

The latest incident occurred between Sunday 19 and Thursday 23 August when a Westwood Castle trailer and an Ivor Williams trailer carrying a red coloured ride-on lawnmower were stolen in the Ardrahan area.

Another orange Husqvarna ride-on mower was also stolen from the Gort area around this time. Gardaí are advising people to take extra precautions when securing their property and where possible to take photographs of and retain serial numbers of their property.

Anyone with any information in relation to these incidents is asked to contact Gort Gardaí at 091-636400.

Homeowners in the county have also been advised to ensure that all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving their home unattended or going to bed at night. Gardaí have also advised that homeowners not leave any valuable items visible through windows and doors to would-be intruders.
