Oxfam is running an Ireland Unwrapped Christmas campaign, which will offer people a wide range of innovative gift ideas that are designed to make a difference.

This Christmas, instead of the usual socks or box of chocs, Galway Oxfam is asking people to give a gift that they and their recipient can feel great about.

Each of these unwrapped gifts come with a gift card detailing what you have bought, an Oxfam Ireland fridge magnet featuring a photographic representation of the gift and its own individual web address, which gives the person you have bought it for an exclusive insight into the real difference their gift has made.

All the gifts are sourced locally from the communities Oxfam works with, putting money directly back into their economy.

Local Oxfam shop manager, Agnes Sage, said: "Oxfam Unwrapped not only solves many gift dilemmas but also makes a real difference to many people's lives around the world. We were wonderfully supported by the people of Galway last year and our aim is to sell more gifts this year to help even more communities overcome poverty and suffering. The great thing about the Oxfam Unwrapped catalogue is that the range of gifts has something for everyone, which means less stress and more smiles on Christmas morning!"
