Bookmaker Boylesports.com has named Galway-based Minister ?amon ? C?iv as the seventh in line for the Fianna Fáil leadership, at odds of 33/1. After the budget, Finance Minister Brian Cowen is the hot favourite to replace Bertie Ahern as the next leader of Fianna Fáil, while the nearest challenger, Micheál Martin, is at 13/2. For those looking for an outside bet, rebel TD Ned O'Keeffe is 200/1 to lead the party and the controversial Beverly Cooper Flynn is also at 100/1, despite the fact she has yet to be welcomed back into the fold. Boylesports has also released odds on who will be the next Taoiseach after the next General Election, with both Fine Gael's Enda Kenny and Brian Cowen both priced at even money. Micheál Martin and Brian Lenihan are at 8/1 and 9/1 respectively. Galway man Eamon Gilmore is a long shot at 50/1. |
